Germany Produces 60% More Solar in 2011

In a good news story, Germany produced 60% more solar in 2011 than 2010.  That’s 18 Billion kWh and brings energy produced from low carbon sources in Germany to 19.9% of their energy use.

India is Surprisingly On-Target for 20,000 MW of Solar by 2020

Vikas Bajaj reports in the NY Times that India is surprising many with their progress towards what were thought to be over ambitious solar targets.  Their auction process combined with global drops in solar equipment prices put them on target for 20,000 megawatts of solar power by 2020.
