Many green companies were started by full-time moms who decided to choose a healthier lifestyle for their families. In their efforts to avoid exposure to toxic chemicals, they innovated and created sustainable, safe, eco-friendly and practical replacements for everyday items. These items include things the average person may consider mundane like lunchboxes, sandwich bags, and water-bottles; but these entrepreneurs have taken the mundane and turned it into the fascinating. There is a story and science behind each and every one of these products.

In addition to creating safe products for their families to use, these products were often either recyclable or reusable. This meant less and less plastic to go into our landfills and oceans.

Here is where the ReusableBagStore.com story starts.

“Our plastic bag situation is so dire – we use plastic bags for nearly everything, from shopping to transport to carrying other plastic bags!”

The company decided to provide a one-stop solution for people to go eco-friendly on the bag front. They started out by selling reusable sandwich bags, reusable snack bags – which are great alternatives to plastic baggies and reusable shopping bags. Incidentally, these are still their best sellers.

“Additionally, we created a learning center on our site which would serve to be an educational hub for people looking to start reusing and recycling. We featured articles on the harmful effects of plastic, how to care for reusable goods, and alternate uses for reusable sandwich bags, shopping bags, and other eco-friendly items. We try to add at least one new article to the learning center every week.”

Next ReusableBagStore.com realized that the plastic situation runs much deeper. Research shows that the average child creates about 60 pounds of lunch waste every year! That is quite a staggering figure, considering how light paper and plastic bags truly are. They decided to expand into lunchboxes and water-bottles, so they could provide a one-stop-shop solution for green and reusable lunches.

The site continues to grow.

“We are building relationships with prominent and influential figures in the industry to get our message across and help more and more people reuse and recycle. We are always on the lookout for innovative and new products to provide to our customers.”

“Ultimately, the green and reusable movement will only be as successful as the belief of the people doing it. The more they reuse, the more their friends, family, and co-workers see them reusing, the more and more our green-and-reusable community will grow. This will lead to a healthy, safe, and green future for our planet and our families.”
